Now we must keep the pictures in good taste but the infamous cabbage patch is just a part of Daytona. South of Daytona a field is set up with vendors and a large pit that has about 2 feet of cole slaw in it. Two people at a time wrestle - guess pictures are necessary.

New photos from March of 2008
COLE SLAW WRESTLING, MARCH 5, 8: popular Wednesday event March 5, now also on March 8. Free. Noon, Sopotnick's Cabbage Patch Bar, 549 Tomoka Farms Road, corner of Pioneer Trail, Samsula.

The day before the cole slaw wrestling there was heavy rain in Daytona. Mud was everywhere!! Maybe we should have had mud wrestling instead of slaw wrestling. The day of this event was cool and windy. It was about 60 degrees and you can see by the flags how much the wind was blowing.

The cabbage heads were thrown in the shredder then oil was added.

The contestants had to make a walk around the cole slaw pit before the match started. Look at the crowds around the fence in the background....

The girls had to lose twice before they were totally out. Some of them came prepared to fight but some came right out of the crowd and wore what they had on. Don't you imagine that was a mess when they get back on the bikes.
